Transformation

As our bewildered world today, reels from thousands of deaths and suffering people inflicted by a coronavirus-19 pandemic, a silent earth witnesses a black man’s dying cries

for help from brutal white policemen in the United States. Every day that passes is a test to our humanity, an evaluation of all our actions whether they are good or bad. These days, very little is understood by the word “humanity.” The root word is “human.” As a human being, each one of us is a consolidation of physical, mental and spiritual qualities. We have a fair knowledge about the physical and mental aspects but very little is known about the spiritual field which is right within our human body.

The reason for this is that from the seventeenth century on, two Western philosophers namely, Rene Descartes and Auguste Comte, emphatically separated mind and matter. They believed that knowledge obtained through the senses was more authentic than the mind because the mind could not be seen and therefore not trusted. They gave no recognition or credence to the human spirit. They emphatically believed only in the scientific method which our institutions still practise.

The current world situation resulting from the public murder of the black man in

Minneapolis is one of chaos and race-based violence and turmoil. These times call for nothing less than human transformation. The cry right now is for each human being around the world to act from our spiritual self in order to navigate these difficult times with love, peace and the recognition that we are inherently the same. The cure for the dis-ease of racial prejudice and injustices is the medicine of spiritual recognition. This spirit within every single one of us is called by many names. We refer to it as life, soul, self, spirit, energy, power, source, consciousness and other names people choose. I like to refer to my “spirit” as “self.” In this blog I will use “self” to mean “spirit.”

The true nature of the human “self” is energy. This energy is quite different from mechanical or electrical energy that is generated from water, coal, air, oil, uranium, methane, etc. This energy of our “self” is a conscious, dynamic and living power. It is the essence of our nature and a light that illuminates itself. This conscious, dynamic and living “self” within each one of us is united with the bigger Universal Self, the Divine Self. This Self is God, the Supreme Being who is the sole Reality of all that is known and even unknown. In other words, each one of us has the Spirit of God within us.

God, the Supreme Spirit or Self has no color. Additionally, it is not masculine or f

eminine. It is both. That is why we can describe God as Mother and Father. This Supreme Being who is within us and has no color, can be known by each one of us. The only way to know who we truly are, no matter what our skin color is, is to know this Divine Being in us. We cannot know it by an MRI machine, a microscope, remote sensing technology, scientific knowledge or our senses. The only way to know God within is an inner approach.

When we identify our self with this loving Supreme Being within, is to know our self; and when we know our self, we are able to know God, the one true Self in each of us human beings. It is from this inner journey that we are capable of acting morally and ethically.

This sacred Self in each one of us is no bigger than our thumb. It is seated in the centre of our heart-cave. This subtle power is the amazing Divine Formless Energy and the All-knowing Light. This Supreme Light dwells in the heart of all human beings. It is just like the reflection of the moon’s reflection in a variety of containers filled with water. The containers may be all different but the moon’s reflection is exactly the same.

Each one of us can test this truth of the Divine Self within. All you and I have to do is to quietly calm our mind and concentrate on the Self within. As you do so, your mind will gradually receive the Self’s radiance just like the light’s radiation from a light bulb. Your enlightened mind will begin to guide your thoughts and actions. Furthermore, your continued concentration on your Self within can make it possible for your own transformation as others have experienced. Just as it takes a light to light a lamp that s

hows the way, similarly, an illumined person can bring light and good actions to others and the world.

A collision course is currently happening in our world through the results of the corona virus pandemic and racial injustices and divisiveness. Like two sides of a razors edge, they demand our transformation for peace within ourselves, our societies and our world. A new world order can only happen from a collective spiritual dimension. It is loudly whispering, in a painful labor, for each one us for to act from truth, freedom, and love. The birth cannot wait.

May it be so!
